Oriental
has a small town, friendly feel, but being on the Intracoastal Waterway,
it gets visitors from around the world. Throughout the year, festivals
and regattas keep the town vibrant. Sailboat races start in earnest
in the Spring, while the Summer hosts the CroakerFest and the Tarpon
Tournament. The Oriental Cup Regatta, a social and sailing extravaganza,
takes place in the Fall. Winter harbors the Spirit of Christmas
and illuminated boat parade, the New Year's Eve Running of the Dragon,
and the New Year's Day informal sailing race. Year round, visitors
and locals alike, enjoy sailing, kayaking, fishing, dining, and
shopping in the Old Village, and live performances at the Theatre. |
